Commercial PV

Commercial PV works just the same as Domestic PV in terms of rails, panels and fittings, the only difference being the Feed-In-Tariff, initial costs, and the Kilowatt hours produced.

The panels can be fitted onto many different types of roof. They can be on slate, kingspan profile sheets, tiled or the panels can be put on flat roofs using suntubs or put in gardens or land using again either the suntubs or a free standing rail system. The panels can be placed on the roof either portrait or landscape depending on the roof type or size.

For PV systems from 10kw - 50kw the Feed-In-Tariff currently stands at 32.9 pence per Kilowatt Hour and for PV systems 50kw onwards it stands at 18.9 pence per kilowatt hour. However, as from the 12th December 2011 The Feed-In-Tariff will drop on the 10kw - 50kw systems down to 15.2 pence per kilowatt hour so if you were to require a system, we would recommend to install before the 12th December 2011 so that you still have the benefit of receiving higher income from the feed-in-tariff. The managing directors have came up with some new installation prices to ensure that you will still benefit from solar PV after the feed in tariff reduces.

Generally for a 10kw system on a south facing roof, with a pitch of 20 degrees, the system is likely to produce around 8500 kilowatt hours per annum, depending on which panels are used and assuming no excessive shading. The payback time for the 10kw installation would be approximately 6.8 years from when the system was first turned on and producing energy. Over 25 years the profit that you would make from the system will be around £141,000.

Generally for a 25kw system on a south facing roof, with a pitch of 15 degrees, the system is likely to produce around 20,850 kilowatt hours per annum, depending on which panels are used and assuming no excessive shading. The payback time for the 25kw installation would be approximately 6.9 years from when the system was first turned on and producing energy. Over 25 years the profit that you would make from the system will be around £283,500.

Generally for a 50kw system on a south facing roof, with a pitch of 15 degrees, the system is likely to produce around 41,218 kilowatt hours per annum, depending on which panels are used and assuming no excessive shading. The payback time for the 50kw installation would be approximately 6.9 years from when the system was first turned on and producing energy. Over 25 years the profit that you would make from the system will be around £567,000.

If you are interested in solar PV, but are concerned about the prices of installations, many of the banks and loan companies are very supportive of green energy, therefore offering customers loans to help them invest into renewables

On the 9th June 2011 a 10kw system which we had already installed went live and started to produce energy. On the 14th September 2011 we went back out to check the meter and see what the system was producing, which was showing at 3703kwh produced so far. As this has only been 4 months, our system is over producing and hopefully on course to keep producing well as the year goes on. To read more about this installation Click Here

We can offer you an over the phone quote which involves looking at your site on a world mapping system  and then establishing shading, roof cover, type of roof finish etc.. at your site. From a telephone conversation we are able to input into the software your co-ordinates and accurately predict the amount of on-site generation you will achieve by selecting various array sizes, the bigger the array the more power you will generate. We prepare a detailed report which will present our findings.
